The most severe effects of Vitamin B12 deficiency are irreversible nerve and brain damage. • Avoid drinking coffee, tea and ingesting antacids, because they decrease iron absorption. • Make sure you are eating plenty of iron rich food, such as, liver, green leafy vegetable, beets, dried fruits, bran flake, oysters, brown rice, lentils and molasses, raisins, prunes; breads and pastas made from hole grain flour. • This leafy vegetable is a precious source of high grade iron.
