Bursae are lubricating pads separating tendons from bones in parts of the body. Bursitis results when bursae are inflamed. The irritation may be the result of repetitive or forceful exertions at that joint. The major bursae are situated adjacent to the tendons near the large joints, such as the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Bursitis causes pain while moving the body. Bursitis mainly occurs on hip, ankle, knee, shoulder and elbow.

Symptoms of Bursitis: -

Some of the most ordinary symptom of bursitis is swelling, feeling of warmth in the exaggerated area, redness of the skin, stiffness and pain in areas such as big toe, elbow, knee, hip, shoulders and excessive pain on movement. Redness and pain are not on the external region.

Home Remedies for Bursitis: -

• Grid one potato and add a cup of water in it. Immerse it in the whole night then filter it in the very next morning. Drink that liquid at a time before having breakfast. It is the best home remedy for bursitis.
• Prepare a sandalwood paste by mixing one teaspoon of sandalwood powder and some water. Apply this paste on the affected area to cure the inflammation naturally.
• Mildly massage with ‘Dhanvantaram tailam’ over the affected area and leave it for half hour and then have bath with warm water. It will not only relieve the pain but it also nourishes the bones.
• The natural treatment of bursitis is aimed at controlling the pain or reducing the swelling and inflammation in the bursae. Medicines like Triphala-Guggulu, Yograj-Guggulu, Kaishor-Guggulu, Vat-Gajankush-Ras, Maha-Vat-Vidhwans-Ras and Vish-Tinduk-Vati are used to control pain.
• Applying tea tree oil or sesame oil on the area of inflammation is a highly recommended home remedy for this disease.
• Sea water is also best to cure bursitis. Drink it daily. This is one of the natural home remedy for bursitis.
• Soaking the affected area in warm water with some Epsom in it is an extremely effective home treatment for all kinds of inflammations including Bursitis.
• Add one tablespoon of cayenne pepper in a cup of apple cider vinegar and boil the mixture for about 15 minutes. Applying this mixture on the affected area has been accepted as a good natural cure for the disease.
