There is a lot of hype in the media about women and the vitamins they're supposed to be taking. There is much less buzz; however, about what vitamins and minerals men should be taking. It is just as important for men to take vitamins and minerals as well as stay healthy with herbs and supplements as it is for women and children.

• Hair: -Biotin is a form of Vitamin B that helps with hair health. Men are often prone to hair loss, making biotin a beneficial vitamin.

• Weight: - Vitamin B2 is also known as riboflavin. This vitamin helps the body break down glucose and fats for energy which can keep weight down.
• Bones: - Men have to keep their bones strong just like women do. Vitamin D can help this process because it facilitates the absorption of calcium into the bones.
• Muscle: - Vitamin B1 is also called thiamine. This vitamin is especially good for men who are body builders as it helps with protein synthesis which can lead to muscle growth.

• Vitamin C: -Research shows that vitamin C helps reduce sperm agglutination (clumping of sperm cells). Agglutination reduces sperm motility and, therefore, lowers male fertility. Vitamin C has also been shown to help overcome negative effects on sperm caused by smoking cigarettes. It is recommended that men receive at least 60 milligrams of vitamin C each day.
• Vitamin B12: -A vitamin B12 deficiency has been linked to low sperm count and motility. One study showed that a 1,500 milligram vitamin B12 supplement taken daily improved sperm counts in men by 60 percent. Foods high in vitamin B12 include beef, seafood and fortified breakfast cereals.
• Vitamin E: -Vitamin E has profound effects on specific enzymes necessary for proper male fertility. A lack of vitamin E has been linked to lowered sperm count in men. Vitamin E also improves sperm motility. Doctors typically recommend a daily vitamin E dose of 400 IU for adult males.
